Reality
(Beryl Court)
Lyrics & Music: Tristan Bugenis with music contributions by Alexander Buxton, Thomas Canto & Matt Hackney
Reality represents Beryl Court's first song that was recorded and produced professionally. The tracks were laid down at Cadence Studios in Iowa on Feb. 11, 2012 and mastered by Universal Recording Studios. (Previous recordings were done by the band themselves.)
Notable Insider fact: The band had been playing "Reality" in shows for a few months but the vocal bridge was literally written two days before the band left for Iowa and they hadn't decided if it would be used until the actual day they were in the studio. They had never played it through together at the time of the recording and the first time they ever performed the new version together was at a live show almost a month later.

Sick & Tired
(Beryl Court)
Lyrics: Bugenis; Music Beryl Court
Driving home from college, Tristan entertained himself putting some sounds together in his head, and once he got home to a quiet house, he wrote “Sick & Tired.” Rumor has it that video exists from the day of its inception with Tristan singing it to his cats and his dog.
This is another song that sat around for a couple of years before working into the performance rotation. When presented to the band, the song was enhanced with Matt's harmonies and drum beats, Tristan and Taco each contributed to the bass notes and Alex added the distinctive lead guitar.

Notable Insider fact: Alex added the metal-style vocals in the background at the end of the song.

Goodbye, Baby
(Beryl Court)
Lyrics: Bugenis & Hackney; Music: Beryl Court
Tristan started “Goodbye, Baby” sitting around his room in Oklahoma while in college. He made some recordings and sent it to Matt in Lubbock where he was in school and they ended up with a happy break-up song.
The band agrees that the 50’s feel of this tune lends itself to a sock-hop video with the band displaying do-wop choreography…at least that’s the vision. Tap along and maybe the ending of your next relationship can be this much fun.

Black & Blue
(Beryl Court)
Lyrics: Bugenis & Hackney; Music: Beryl Court
“Black & Blue” originated one night in Tristan’s living room as Matt began the words to the chorus and Tristan chimed in with some words of his own. The original song title was “Day by Day” but that changed as the initial words evolved into its final form. Tristan laid down the base melody and a song was born. It lay in the songbook vault for a little while but came to life in 2010 shortly after Taco joined the band.
The band came together to learn the song and added their own flair to the score. At that time, some of the lyrics were tweaked and the lead guitar and bass lines were added. The stops in the bridge were a wonderful accident. They were playing a section to learn it…stopped, played it again, stopped to do it again and everyone paused and said, wow, they sounds good…keep that in!
The song totally rocks live and is frequently requested.
